Helping with quarantine

To say that times are strange is an understatement. We’re all stuck within our four walls. And, like so many others, I’ve been furloughed, which puts a question mark over my future employment and reduces my income at a time when we arguably needed it most (my wife is in the last three months of her maternity leave and therefore receiving no pay at all).

Despite that, I realise how lucky I am. I have a wonderful wife and daughter, and luckily no-one I know has so far been affected by the pandemic. I know many others have not been so lucky.

But these are certainly trying times for everyone, so I’ve been thinking hard about what I can do to help. And I’ve come up with these four things:

Reduce prices

I’m not the only one who needs to tighten to purse strings, but entertainment can help keep us sane during these uncertain times. With that in mind, I’ve reduced the prices of all my novels to 0.99. Yes, that reduces my income even further, but this feels like the right thing to do. So, if you’ve been waiting for an excuse to download the next book in the Realm Rift Saga, now’s a great time to pick up your copy!

Paperback giveaway

Lower prices are great, but some would argue that there’s no better price than free! So I’m running I ran a giveaway for some uncorrected proof paperback copies of The Fey Man and The Unquiet Sword! It was so great to connect with the winners, and I slipped a little extra in with their paperbacks: a printed version of the deluxe map from The Fey Man. Because who doesn’t love unexpected little extras?

Ebook giveaways

If you prefer ebooks to paperbacks, there are always plenty of ebook giveaways! I’m collecting ebook giveaways on this page of my website. If you come across a giveaway that isn’t listed, send me the details and I’ll include it.

Colouring pack

We can’t always be reading, I suppose. And it occurred to me that the unique art style of the Realm Rift Saga lends itself to colouring activities. So I’ve knocked together a fantasy art colouring pack. Print it off for the kids (or for yourself!) and send me some pictures of the results; I’d love to see them! Here’s what I, my wife, and daughter did with ours!

Happy to do more

Lower prices, free paperbacks, free ebooks, and colouring packs. That’s not a bad start to making time during quarantine a bit easier. And if you’re looking for more reading material, don’t forget that you can download the Fantastic Insights survey report, which offers a fascinating look into what makes fantasy readers tick!

But, if you can think of anything else I can do, just let me know!

In the meantime, I hope you’re keeping well, and that your friends and family are all safe.
